50 Cent has revealed that he comes up with his songs during "creative binges".

The rapper, whose long-awaited fourth album Before I Self Destruct is due out later this year, says he fluctuates between moments of intense motivation and sluggishness.

He told ContactMusic.com: "I write at a rapid pace,  I have binges.

"I'll be in the studio and I've met moments when I'm there and unmotivated by production. Just there and unexcited about the whole s***. Then there's times when every beat that comes on, I have an idea."

Before I Self Destruct - originally slated for released in February - is now due in September.
