John Cusack is in talks to star in a time travel comedy named Hot Tub Time Machine, which would reunite him with regular writer-director buddy Steve Pink.

According to Empire online, the plot of the oddly-named project would find Cusack and a bunch of friends - including Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson - returning to a ski lodge they used to favour as teenagers and discovering a hot tub that enables them to transport back to 1987 once they climb into it.

Cusack's previous collaborations with Pink include hitman comedy Grosse Point Blank and High Fidelity. Filming is due to start in Vancouver in April.
