The Croods still at No.1 spot after three weeks

the Croods

The Croods has remained at number one spot in the UK box office charts for a third consecutive week.

DreamWorks Animation's prehistoric comedy once again held off the challenge of GI Joe: Retaliation, reaching a total gross of 18 million after 20 days.

The horror film Dark Skies was the highest new entry at number three this week, taking just over 1 million in its first week of release.

Fairing less well in their opening week were Spring Breakers, which is likely to have been held back by its 18 certficate, and The Odd Life of Timonthy Green, which appears to have been scuppered by bad reviews in the media.
