Disney confirms plans for an Avengers sequel
In the least surprising news of the year, Disney has confirmed they plan to make another Avengers film.
Marvel Avengers Assemble remains top of the UK box office chart and grossed an incredible $207.4m in its opening weekend in the US.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has since told Deadline.com that the blockbuster's worldwide success "is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much".
The sequel is unlikely to appear in cinemas until summer 2015, with Iron Man 2, Thor 2 and Captain America 2 all in development.
