Battleship stays afloat in UK box office chart

Big-budget blockbuster Battleship has held the No.1 spot at the UK box office for a second week.

The Universal Pictures release took £1.3m to stay at the summit over a closely-fought weekend in the UK chart.

Comedy-drama Salmon Fishing in the Yemen was the highest new entry, debuting in second with an impressive £1.2m, while The Hunger Games continues to attract cinemagoers, as the thriller clinched third place.

Lionsgate celebrated their fourth spot in the UK Top 5 as The Cabin In The Woods built on positive word-of-mouth to drop one place to fourth, while Titanic 3D claimed fifth place.
