Bill Murray has signed up to play the villain in a new romantic thriller co-starring Megan Fox.

Passion Play will tell the story of a down-on-his-luck jazz trumpet player who forms a bond with a winged beauty (played by Fox) who is part of a sideshow attraction at a carnival.

Murray will play a gangster named Happy who is determined to keep the two apart, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Rhys Ifans and Mickey Rourke have also joined the cast of the film, which marks the debut feature from director Mitch Glazer (who previously penned the screenplay for Scrooged for Murray).
