Bradley Cooper has signed up to appear in a mind-bending new thriller called Dark Fields.

He will play a down-and-out writer who experiences an upturn in fortunes when he gets his hands on a top secret drug that makes people cleverer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Cooper replaces Shia LaBeouf, who was originally attached to the project.
