
Former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston is reportedly set to play the bad guy in upcoming Thor sequel The Dark World.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Eccleston is in talks to portray Malekith The Accursed, leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim in the comic-book follow-up film.
Apar from playing the Time Lord, Eccleston has some experience has an onscreen villain, playing Destro in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and The Rider in 2007 fantasy The Dark is Rising.
Alan Taylor takes over as director from Kenneth Branagh in the Thor director's chair, with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Ray Stevenson all reprising their roles from the first film.
