Chronicle actor Dane DeHaan will play the integral role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it has been announced.
The Lawless star was confirmed for the role by director Marc Webb, having beaten Alden Ehrenreich and Brady Corbet to the part.
Production on the superhero sequel is due to begin early next year, with both Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary-Jane Watson, respectively.
Webb revealed DeHaan's casting on Twitter, posting: "Meet Harry Osborn" alongside a picture of the young actor.
In a full statement from Columbia Pictures, Webb added: "Dane is an exciting and extraordinary young actor and he is a fantastic addition to our cast."
DeHaan also commented on the news on Twitter, saying: "To say I'm excited is an understatement. #HarryOsborn #ASM2."
"All this love is makin' me feel all tingly inside. Thanks ya'll.#HarryOsborn #ASM2 (sic)"
