Transformers director Michael Bay has announced that Marky Mark, or Mark Wahlberg as he's more commonly known these days, will star in the fourth instalment of the robotic franchise.
Bay and Wahlberg worked together on the former's upcoming bodybuilding drama Pain and Gain and are set to reprise the partnership in Transformers 4, due for release in June 2014.
"Mark is awesome," said Bay on his official site.
"We had a blast working on Pain and Gain and I'm so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy."
The fourth Transformers film is likely to have an entirely new human cast, with Shia LaBeouf leaving the franchise, but Optimus Prime and his fellow robots in disguise will almost certainly be back in action.
