
Ridley Scott's Prometheus has beaten Snow White and the Huntsman to the No.1 spot at the Uk box office.
The sci-fi thriller took £6.2m over the Jubilee weekend to claim first place, with the fairytale reboot debuting in second despite opening earlier than Prometheus.
Men in Black 3 slipped to third after a week at the top spot while Avengers Assemble fell to fourth, having now grossed £48m in the UK.
The other new entries in the UK Top 10 came from the 3D return of Top Cat (in seventh) and Ken Loach's award-winning comedy-drama The Angels' Share, which debuted in ninth.
