Scarlett Johansson hopes the huge success of Marvel Avengers Assemble could result in a stand-alone film for Black Widow.
The 27-year-old actress plays former mercenary Natasha Romanov in the superhero epic and admitted the character could feature in a spin-off movie.
"I love her origin story," she told ComicBookMovie.com.
"I think it's just such a riveting one... it's just steeped in history and the richness to shoot in Russia, perhaps.
"I hope that the fans' voice is loud enough and they want to see a Widow origin story, I know Marvel would be happy to entertain that. We've spoken a lot about it."
Marvel Avengers Assemble looks on track to make at least $1bn worldwide, having taken a massive $207.4m in its opening weekend in the US.
