James Bond's appeal to UK cinema-goers shows no sign of waning, with Skyfall chalking up a third week at the top of the UK box office.
The £10.45m taken last weekend was the highest takings ever for a film on the third weekend of release - and Skyfall now sits in fifth place in the biggest films of all time at the UK box office, with a total gross of £72m and rising.
It looks on course to knock Avatar off its perch and become the most successful film of all time on these shores, as well as the first to crack £100m at the UK box office.
Left trailing in its wake were the week's two highest new entries, Ben Affleck's well-received CIA thriller Argo at number 3 (£1.28m) and Kevin James comedy Here Comes The Boom (£443k) at number 4.
The only other new entry in the top 10 was real-life girl-group drama The Sapphires, which took a disappointing £337k to limp in at number 7.
007 is expected to get his stiffest box office test yet when the final instalment of the Twilight franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, hits cinemas on Friday.
