Bond-fever has erupted Stateside, with Skyfall debuting at the top of the US box office with takings of US $87.7m - with early previews taking the figure up to an impressive US $90m total.
With the studios shying away from pitting major new releases up against 007, most of last week's box office top 10 fell just a single place - Wreck-It Ralph held well with a respectable US $33m in second position, Fight is down to third with takings of US $15.1m. Argo and Taken 2 completed the top five, with takings of US $6.7m and US $4m respectively.
The other noteworthy new entry was Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, which was given a limited release in order to qualify for next year's awards season. It took US $900k in just 11 cinemas, charting at No.15.
