
Seth MacFarlane comedy Ted has ended the chart-topping reign of The Dark Knight Rises.
The Universal Pictures release, about the friendship between a man (Mark Wahlberg) and his talking teddy bear buddy (MacFarlane), took an impressive £9.3m to top the UK chart after its first week on release.
The Dark Knight Rises slipped to second, but grossed £4.3m over its third weekend on release, while Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days debuted in third and Brave entered the Top 10 based on Scottish and Irish preview showings.
