A huge Gollum sculpture was installed at Wellington Airport last week and now Air New Zealand has unveiled a Tolkien-flavoured safety video, ahead of the release of The Hobbit.
The in-flight clip features elves, wizards and Orcs, as well as a few unexpected cameos, with New Zealand providing real-life locations for Middle Earth in The Hobbit, having demonstrated its amazing terrain in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Air New Zealand general manager marketing and communications Mike Tod said: "This latest safety video, inspired by The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is another example of how New Zealand is a hotbed for creative talent."
He added: "We are also working extremely closely with Tourism New Zealand on a range of initiatives, including supporting bringing several hundred journalists to experience Middle-earth."
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on December 14.
