The Amazing Spider-Man has claimed the No.1 spot in the UK box office charts.
The superhero reboot, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, took just over £11m to debut at the summit after its first weekend on release.
The Sony Pictures release has made a healthy start internationally and its UK tally was boosted by £4.3m in preview takings after opening last Tuesday.
Last week's chart-topper, Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, fell to second, but its figures remain impressive given its takings only represent Irish, Northern Irish and Scottish showings, with the full UK opening to come on July 13th.
3D documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me was the second highest new entry in the UK top 10, debuting in fourth, while Hindi release Bol Bachchan debuted in eighth.
The top 10 films at the UK box office are:
1 The Amazing Spider-Man - £11.1m
