First live televised league game

It was indeed against Nottingham Forest on a day - 2 October 1983 - I remember well. Chas and Dave were the warm-up act at the Lane, where it was ITV, not the BBC, who were screening the game live. Colin Walsh gave Forest the lead against a lacklustre Tottenham side who only came to life in the 70th minute when Gary Stevens scored with a diving header from Garry Brooke's cross. Steve Archibald bagged a late winner for Spurs in front of a crowd of 30,596. In fact this wasn't the first live televised league game in England. On 10 September 1960 ITV screened Blackpool v Bolton live from Bloomfield Road in a programme called The Big Game, although coverage began at 7.30pm even though the match had kicked off at 6.50pm.
