Kylie Minogue says she wants to relaunch her acting career with a comedy role.

The diminutive Australian, who shot to fame as an actress in TV soap Neighbours, says after roles in Doctor Who and 2001 film Moulin Rouge, she wants to start tickling some funny bones.

Speaking on Argentinian TV show Mañanas Informales (Informal Mornings), Kylie said: "I'd love to do a comedy. I've done a few little comedy bits and pieces as a guest on different shows and I love it."

She added: "It's not that well known that I'm funny, but I am. People who know me will tell you."

Kylie is currently in South America on the second leg of her KylieX2008 tour, where she played Columbia's Bogota Parque on Saturday night (1 November).
