Singer facing legal action over unreturned cash
A Canadian ticket company is suing Taylor Swift for keeping a £1.6 million payment to appear at a gig which didnt go ahead.
Taylor was booked in to perform at Ottawa's country music Hoedown Festival in August 2012, however the concert was cancelled due to high costs, permit problems.
The singer had received her fee in advance and is now facing legal action over the non-return of the payment. The ticket company are hoping the return of Taylors fee will help pay towards ticket refunds. A lawsuit has been filed in federal court in New York.
A representative for Taylor told TMZ.com that the singer NEVER made a deal with the ticket company - and has not yet seen the lawsuit.
Even though Taylor received the money, sources claim the cancellation of the festival was out of her control.
Taylor is currently in the UK rehearsing for her BRITs performance on Wednesday night. Apparently organisers are juggling around schedules so that Taylor and her ex, One Directions Harry Styles, dont bump into each other.
Could be awkward on the night!
