Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears is backing a fan campaign calling for a cameo on the all-singing-all-dancing TV series.

After Britney Spears' brief appearance on the show went down a treat with viewers and Glee staff alike, actor Chris Colfer, who plays gay student Kurt Hummell on the show, revealed that he would love to see the flamboyant disco outfit walk the halls of McKinley High School.

Chris, who is an avid fan of the 'Fire With Fire' singer, has affiliated himself with a Facebook group which aims to persuade Glee creator Ryan Murphy to give the band a walk on part. The group currently has 5,000 members.

Jake has also taken to the band's Facebook page to broadcast their keenness to appear on Glee. He wrote:

"This campaign to get us on Glee is awesome, we're very appreciative to the fans & we love the show! We've been into it since it first aired, and then met Chris & some of the Glee cast.

"Chris comes to our shows & feels a real connection with the band & I think he sees a proper fit between Glee's aesthetic & a lot of our music. I know this would be a blast for the band, fingers crossed!"
