Robbie Williams has confirmed plans to appear on this year's X Factor.

Rumours regarding a guest spot from the former Take That star - who releases comeback single 'Bodies' on 12 October - have been hitting the news all week, and now the star has discussed them, via a statement on his website.

It reads: "You may have read news this morning about Robbie appearing on the new series of The X Factor.

"Well, we're very excited to tell you that this is true! Details are still being finalised so make sure you stay tuned for further announcements. As soon as we're able to tell you more we'll let you know right here."

This year's X Factor begins on 22 August.
