Adele debuts post-surgery voice

Soul singer Adele proved she's fighting fit after undergoing throat surgery by showing off her vocal skills on U.S. TV.

The star has not performed in public since calling off a string of tour dates to undergo an operation on her vocal cords last year.

She is gearing up for a big comeback at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, her first major performance since a stunning rendition of her hit Someone Like You at the Brit Awards last February propelled her to global fame.

And she proved her pipes are in working order during an interview with U.S. newsman Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, which will air in America on Sunday.

After Cooper requested a track from the star, she advised him she would have to sing a cappella - as her fingernails were too long to play the piano.

She then belted out her hit track Rolling in the Deep, the lead song from her platinum selling album 21.

what do you think?

I don't know what people hear when they listen to Adele and most female singers. The sound they produce is unaturaland it's not singing , it's shouting.

I disagree, Ray - she is one of the few who do not shout! She's fab and a thoroughly good egg!
