Alexandra Burke pays tribute to cancer patient

Singer Alexandra Burke has paid tribute to a girl who lost her battle with cancer at the age of five.

Niamh Curry, who suffered from neuroblastoma, spent several weeks in hospital fighting pneumonia and Burke had shown her support for the youngster by wearing a wristband to help raise funds for her treatment.

But the Bad Boys hitmaker was left devastated after hearing the news on Monday that Curry passed away.

Taking to Twitter.com, she writes, "So sorry2hear (sic) NiamhsNextStep (sic) passed away. God needed his angel home. May her soul rest in perfect peace. My prayers are with her&her (sic) family x."
