Andy Burrows turned to daughter for Snowman sequel soundtrack

Former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows consulted his four-year-old daughter while penning the music to the sequel of Raymond Briggs' popular children's classic The Snowman.

The rocker made sure to test the soundtrack for The Snowman And The Snowdog on his daughter, Chloe, and he knew that if she enjoyed it, the music was sure to be a hit.

Burrows also employed the talents of Muse drummer Dominic Howard and Ash singer/guitarist Tim Wheeler for the TV follow-up to Briggs' Oscar-nominated 1982 animated film - and they jumped at the chance to be involved.

He tells the Daily Star, "I wanted the songs to give the same childlike excitement I felt when I watched the original Snowman. If Chloe started dancing around, I knew I was on to a good thing.

"Everyone jumped at the chance. Who wouldn't want to be involved in a Snowman sequel? When composer Han Eshkeri phoned to ask if I'd be interested, I nearly dropped the phone in excitement."

Benedict Cumberbatch has recorded a special e-book adaptation of the animated sequel.
