Anne Hathaway hosts New York gala
Anne Hathaway teamed up with fellow actress Jane Fonda on Tuesday to host a New York City gala in honour of women in the media.
The Devil Wears Prada actress volunteered to serve as host of the 2012 Women's Media Awards, which were held the day after her 30th birthday on Monday.
Honourees included U.S. TV presenter Lisa Ling and her journalist sister Laura, who picked up the Sisterhood is Powerful Award from the Women's Media Center, which was co-founded by Fonda.
Hathaway, who was accompanied to the event by new husband Adam Shulman, says, "I am a supporter of the Women's Media Center. I believe in their ongoing mission and advocacy for women and girls worldwide to be more visible and powerful through a variety of important programs and initiatives."
