Appeal To Find Homes For Abandoned Puppies
An appeal has been launched to find new homes for eight puppies that were abandoned in a zipped-up holdall.
The seven-week-old Staffordshire bull terrier cross pups were discovered by a dog walker in Peckham, south London, on Saturday.
They were taken to the Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Victoria where they have been making good progress.
They are now being moved to a rehoming centre in Oxfordshire as staff prepare to find them new owners.
Louise Lee, a spokeswoman for Blue Cross, said: "They're so wriggly and lively it looks as though they're shaking their bums.
"It's almost like they are dancing so we named them after the stars of Strictly (Come Dancing)."
The puppies are too young to be handed over at present but new owners will be sought in a few weeks.
The females have been named Denise, Lisa, Victoria and Kimberley, and the males Nicky, Louis, Michael and Dani - despite actress Dani Harmer being female.
Anyone wishing to give them a home is asked to visit the Blue Cross website.
