Asa Butterfield to be honoured with rising star prize

Asa Butterfield is to be feted with CinemaCon's Rising Star of 2013 award in Las Vegas next month.

The Hugo star, who shot to fame at the age of 10 in 2008's The Boy In the Striped Pyjamas, will be presented with the prestigious honour at the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony at Caesars Palace.

Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon said, "With a stunning turn in the title role of Hugo, Butterfield has already proven himself as one to watch in Hollywood. In a short time, he has already endured himself to audiences and critics alike with his captivating onscreen performances, and I cannot think of a young actor more deserving to be this year's CinemaCon Rising Star."

CinemaCon, the largest convention for the motion picture theatre industry, will take place on 15-18 April.
