Ashley Roberts struck down with tonsil infection

Singer Ashley Roberts has fallen ill with tonsillitis.

The former Pussycat Dolls star recently spent three weeks living in the Australian jungle as part of survival series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, on which she came in second to soap actress Charlie Brooks.

And it appears the TV show's strenuous tasks have taken their toll on her health.

Taking to Twitter.com on Monday, she writes in a post, "Feeling sick... Doc says tonsillitis".

During the reality show, Roberts won an army of fans for braving challenges including sleeping in a coffin and jumping into a vat of slime to win food and treats for her camp, which included boxer David Haye, 1980s singer Limahl, and veteran actor Colin Baker.
