'Assisted Suicide' Death: Woman Arrested

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting a suicide after a body was found at a house in Lincolnshire.

Police were called to the property in Leicester Street, Sleaford, following reports a 21-year-old woman, named locally as Emma Louise Crossman, had died.

A local woman, also 21, who was arrested shortly afterwards, was released on bail until February 17 while inquiries continue.

Local resident Zoe Price said the woman who died was a "young, bubbly kind of girl who was nice to speak to".

"It's shocking because she seemed so happy," she added.

Another neighbour, Adam Deakins, said the woman regularly shopped in the supermarket he works at.

He said she "always seemed quite quiet and timid" and added: "It makes you wonder how she had been feeling."

Encouraging or assisting suicide is illegal in the UK and is punishable by up to 14 years' imprisonment.
