Aurora Shooting: Last Photos Of Victim Stolen
The grandfather of a six-year-old girl killed in the Aurora cinema shootings has urged a thief to return the last photographs ever taken of Veronica Moser-Sullivan.
Four cameras were taken from the family home on Tuesday, including one containing a memory card with a number of images of Veronica, Robert Sullivan said.
He said he still has the well-known photo of Veronica licking an ice cream, but many others from that day, when the family were celebrating her graduation from grade school, are gone.
Veronica was the youngest person killed when an armed man burst into a screening of the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises on July 20.
Sullivan told the Denver Post he does not believe the burglars intended to take the photos and said he hoped they or someone they know will contact him and return, at least, the memory cards.
"The pictures hold special significance," he said. "She was a beautiful, special little six-year-old girl, so angelic, and just a terrible loss.
"I look at what happened here today and it's just another spike in the heart ... And my heart has been torn apart."
Former University of Colorado-Denver graduate student James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 58 others in the attack.
