Baby Ran Over By An SUV In Disturbing Video
Chicago Police have released a video which appears to show a man running over an eight-month-old girl with his SUV.
The baby was injured after a row broke out between the child's mother and the driver of the car, Joseph Fults - thought to be her boyfriend.
Fults allegedly punched the 23-year-old woman as she sat in the front seat.
As the unnamed woman clambered out of the car and the driver offloaded the girl, she was heard shouting: "Hey! He just threw my daughter, G. Call the police on his ass."
The mother, with her seven-year-old boy stood beside her, continued the expletive-ridden exchange with Fults until the car shunted forwards, prompting her to apparently strike him.
Her son - who was allegedly assaulted as he tried to intervene - was ushered away from the argument by a friend, while the woman used one arm to carry the baby.
But as one of the car doors shut, the little girl dropped to the ground in front of the SUV's back wheel, which ran over her legs as it began to accelerate.
Both children suffered bruising during the altercation and were taken to the University of Chicago Corner Children's Hospital for injuries that were not said to be life-threatening.
Fults, 46, who is not the children's father, is being held on £60,000 bail and faces two domestic violence charges.
He has been charged with domestic abuse before and was jailed for two years in 1994 for unlawfully using a weapon.
