Barry Manilow to be honoured for charity work

Veteran crooner Barry Manilow is set to be honoured for his philanthropy at a special gala in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The Mandy hitmaker will receive the Heart of Hollywood Award from the Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors in recognition of his ongoing support for the hospital, and businessmen Stanley Black and Scott Minerd are also among the honourees.

Governors Chairman Steve Hitter says, "We are delighted to acknowledge three individuals for their boundless philanthropic efforts. Barry Manilow, Stanley Black and Scott Minerd are members of the community who exemplify the ideals of philanthropy and have demonstrated a commitment to motivating others to do their part."

Toni Braxton and Chris Mann will perform at the gala, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel.
