BBC broadcaster Stuart Hall facing indecent assault charge

Beloved broadcaster Stuart Hall has been arrested and charged with three counts of indecent assault.

The 82-year-old, who once fronted game show It's a Knockout and is a long time sports commentator for the BBC, was taken into custody in Cheshire following complaints to local police about alleged incidents which took place between 1974 and 1984, involving three girls aged between nine and 16.

Hall, who received an Order of the British Empire medal earlier this year, will appear before magistrates in January.
