Biker Banned For 110mph Wheelie Stunt
A biker has been banned from the roads for 20 months after he was caught doing a 110mph wheelie.
Michael Chester was caught on a mobile speed camera performing the high speed stunt as he rode in a 70mph zone on the A63 at Newthorpe, near Selby, North Yorkshire, on July 7.
The 42-year-old, from Meltham, West Yorkshire, admitted dangerous driving when he appeared at Northallerton Magistrates' Court.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said Chester was also given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
He must also take an extended driving test before he can get his licence back.
Dave Brown, who heads North Yorkshire Police's Mobile Safety Camera Team, said: "This is a classic case of someone with complete contempt for motoring laws.
"This dangerous act not only shows arrogance, but a complete lack of concern for the safety of other road users.
"Mr Chester should count himself lucky to be able to attend court, the outcome could have been far worse for him and his family.
"The message should now be clear to others who flout the law that our mobile safety camera has the technology, and our officers have the determination to bring law-breakers to justice."
