Blanchett And Bale Cast In Jungle Book
Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett are among the stars to complete the line-up for Andy Serkis' upcoming Jungle Book film.
The Oscar winners will join Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris, Eddie Marsan and Tom Hollander in Warner Bros' tale about Mowgli and his animal friends, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Serkis is directing Jungle Book: Origins and will also play Baloo, while Bale will voice the panther Bagheera who saves the orphan from the evil tiger Shere Khan, played by Cumberbatch.
The movie, based on Rudyard Kipling's short stories, will be a combination of live action, CGI and motion capture, which Serkis has made famous.
Blanchett will voice the snake Kaa while Hollander will play the jackel Tabaqui.
Harris is the female wolf Nisha, Marsan is her mate, Vihaan. Young star Rohan Chand will play Mowgli.
Serkis' film will be released in October 2016, a year later than Jon Favreau's 3D Disney version which is due out in October 2015.
Idris Elba, Christopher Walken and Scarlett Johansson are among the cast members for that film.
