Brad Pitt Weibo Message Hints At China Visit
Brad Pitt is supposedly banned from entering China, but his first post on the country's version of Twitter suggests he may be planning to go there anyway.
Just hours after joining Weibo, his message "It is the truth. Yup, I'm coming" led to 31,000 reposts and 14,000 comments, many expressing surprise.
The Hollywood star was banned from going into China because of his role in the 1997 film Seven Years In Tibet, according to film website imdb.com.
The government was apparently upset about the film's portrayal of harsh Chinese rule there.
His later film Mr. & Mrs. Smith with actress Angelina Jolie, who is now his real-life partner, was popular in China.
Pitt, 49, has been nominated twice in the best actor category at the Oscars for his role in 2011's Moneyball and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button in 2008.
