Brenda Fricker is broke

Oscar winner Brenda Fricker has been left broke after spending all her savings.

The Irish actress, who picked up the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her turn in 1989's My Left Foot, has enjoyed a varied career in TV and films, including Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Albert Nobbs.

But despite her acting success, Fricker admits she is now penniless.

During an interview for TV show Living The Life, she says, "I lived off my savings while they lasted, now I'm completely broke. But as long as I have a roof over my head and feed the dog and feed myself, I'm perfectly content."
