British Soldier Killed In Afghanistan Blast

A British soldier has been killed in Afghanistan after his vehicle hit a roadside bomb, the Ministry of Defence said.
The death was unrelated to the attack at Camp Bastion in which two US Marines were killed, officials stressed.
Next of kin have been informed of the death.
The serviceman, from the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards, died when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province.
Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Major Laurence Roche, said: "The thoughts of every one of us serving in Afghanistan are with his family, friends and fellow guardsmen at this time."
The death of the Guardsman brings the number of UK forces who have died in Afghanistan since operations began in October 2001 to 428.
