Britney Spears' parents want Lutfi lawsuit thrown out
Britney Spears' parents are urging a judge in Los Angeles to throw out a lawsuit from her former manager Sam Lutfi, insisting there is no substance to his allegations.
Lutfi is suing for battery, defamation and breach of contract, claiming the Toxic hitmaker's mother Lynne branded him a "puppet master" and that the star's father Jamie punched him in the stomach during the singer's 2008 meltdown.
Lutfi's legal team finished putting his case before a judge at Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week but Lynne and Jamie Spears have since filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
In documents obtained by Eonline.com, the couple claims Lutfi did not have a valid contract to represent the singer, and he has also failed to present "clear and convincing evidence" to support his assault allegation against Jamie Spears.
A hearing into the motion to dismiss the case is scheduled to take place in L.A. on Thursday.
