Cameron And Juncker In Awkward 'High Five' Pic

Prime Minister David Cameron and incoming European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker have been photographed greeting one another with what appears to be a rather clumsy high five.

Mr Cameron held one-on-one talks with the Luxembourg politician in Brussels this morning, despite his recent high-profile lobbying to block Mr Juncker from getting the top EU job.

Another official photograph of their uncomfortable-lookingmeeting was released to mark the occasion.

The British PM is pictured with a smile that appears distinctly forced while Mr Juncker looks off to the side, seemingly distracted.

Mr Cameron fiercely resisted Mr Juncker's appointment, fearing he would block changes to the EU when he officially starts the role in November.

The Prime Minister hopes to renegotiate the British deal with the EU and win back powers before putting the country's membership to the vote by the end of 2017.
