Cameron Diaz: 'Cheryl Cole X Factor sack was wrong'

Cameron Diaz is convinced Simon Cowell was "wrong" to fire Cheryl Cole from the U.S. version of The X Factor.

The Hollywood beauty appears alongside Cole in upcoming movie What To Expect When You're Expecting, with the singer playing a music judge on a fictionalised TV talent show.

The pop star appeared in a similar role on The X Factor before Cowell axed her from the U.S. version last year after she failed to make an impact on audiences and TV executives, but Diaz feels the music mogul made a mistake.

Appearing at the London premiere of the movie on Tuesday, she tells Associated Press, "She's so great, she's lovely. She had such a great energy. What she did was really a favour to us because there wasn't a lot for her to do, but there was a lot of ad-libbing. She just kept the energy up. She was a lot of fun."

Glee's Matthew Morrison, who also stars in the movie, says, "Going on how she was a judge on our show, I thought she was great. They had her ad lib a lot and she just came up with all these great lines. So I think they got it wrong," while Cameron adds, "Yeah, me too."

Well if you can't get it right playing yourself in a show you did, then you have a problem. She only has one word to say - which presumably is the only one the Americans can understand !
