Camilla Leads Mourners At Brother's Funeral
The Duchess of Cornwall has led mourners at the funeral of her brother, Mark Shand, who died in New York last week.
The 62-year-old travel writer died unexpectedly outside the Gramercy Hotel's Rose Bar in Manhattan after falling backwards while trying to re-enter a revolving door.
Mr Shand was the Duchess' only brother and she was said to have been left "devastated" by his death.
She and her family, including her husband the Prince of Wales, gathered for a private family funeral at Holy Trinity Church in Stourpaine, near Blandford Forum, Dorset, on Thursday.
The couple were accompanied by Camilla's daughter Laura Lopes, her son Tom Parker Bowles and nephew Ben Elliot.
Conservative MPs Nicholas Soames and Zac Goldsmith were also among the 180 mourners at the church.
Mr Parker Bowles greeted mourners and gave out orders of service as they arrived for the 45-minute service.
It was held at the same church as the funeral of Camilla's father, Major Bruce Shand, in 2006.
Mr Shand was the chairman of Elephant Family, a charity that aims to save the endangered Asian elephant from extinction in the wild.
He was in New York for an auction at Sotheby's in aid of a charity for underprivileged children and Elephant Family.
