Carly Rae Jepsen's alleged hacker arrested
A Canadian man has been arrested and charged with allegedly stealing explicit images of Carly Rae Jepsen from the singer's laptop.
The Call Me Maybe star became aware of the reported theft in March after receiving an anonymous tip claiming a number of risque shots were being shopped to members of the media.
She turned to police for help in tracking down the perpetrator and last week, 25-year-old Christopher David Long turned himself in to Vancouver authorities.
He was charged with fraudulently obtaining telecommunications services, unauthorised use of computer, mischief to data, identity fraud, and possession of stolen property.
Long was subsequently released from custody and has been ordered to face the counts in court on 4 January.
Jepsen learned about the photo scandal just days after dismissing reports suggesting she was the brunette beauty featured in a saucy sex tape that had surfaced online.
Tweeting her denial, she wrote, "Crazy morning. Discovered that someone put up a sex tape claiming to be me," she wrote. "Ridiculous. Obviously not me."
