CCTV Shows Chainsaw Terror For Pub Punters
CCTV pictures have been released showing the moment a man entered a pub brandishing a chainsaw.
Dean Dinnen, 24, had been thrown out of the bar in Hull shortly beforehand for flouting the smoking ban.
He returned with a petrol-powered chainsaw which he started up in front of the terrified onlookers.
Punters managed to restrain him before armed police arrived to arrest him.
Dinnen has since been jailed for three years.
what do you think?

Elaine Moore
Deserved what he got for puting peoples life in danger

It is truly frightening that we walk the same streets as moronic defects such as this

Mikel roi
Sorry - I think he deserved more! Three years means in actual fact he will only serve 18 months at most, possibly less. Just think of the harm a man with a petrol chainsaw could have caused!

ian sadler
Mike dont be sorry you are right

gypsy56
Agreed not long enough - sentence should be served in an 'non smoking' prison.

gypsy56
Shame no one took his legs out from behind with a bar stool - let the SOB land on the chainsaw!

Ron Cheetham
should have got 5 to 10 for threatening life

david
he must have nneded that fag VERY badly!

Why don't they teach self control in schools?

Rachel henshaw
It's not about self control it's about this man very clearly having mental issues that need to be addressed. Still agree with former comments though that it is not a long enough sentence but also think it should be served in an institute rather than a prison.

amazing this - he started up the chainsaw in front of terrified onlookers but he same terrified onlookers managed to restain him before the "armed" police arrived! Er....... unarmed 'punters' managed to restrain him despite being terrified.........mmm I always thought 'punter' was a derogitary term for a wimp with money to burn! Yet it seems these pathetic people had the guts to restrain him whilst the 'heroic' police went back to the station to get 'armed'.........interesting

To be reasonable-sounding, who's fault is it he's addicted to smoking cigarettes in the first place and when did he have his last cigarette? I think, it is acceptable to request people to not smoke in public places. If they had a room set aside for smokers, the smoke would filter through to the non-smoking areas? Was he walking around in a T-shirt at -18C? I don't see why he couldn't 'ave just sat at home drinking some beer and smoking there, really. We don't know what anyone said to him before he was thrown out of the pub. Most people, of course, don't actually respond by going back with a chain saw.

He must of been a "chain smoker "

Wojciech Simpson
he only got 3 years he should of got 15-life. To carry a chainsaw is a danger not just because the saw can hurt /kill you but the petrol in it with someone in that state of mind.

Three years is not long enough - will he serve three years, or probably be released after 6 months ?
