Care Home Abuse Victim Tells Of Sex Parties

A man who was abused in North Wales care homes has told how he was routinely taken to London and forced to take part in sex parties.

He alleges he was regularly abused as a 12-year-old boy by members of the establishment in a smart London flat.

Michael was 10 when he was first taken into care at the former children's home called Bersham Hall near Wrexham, North Wales.

He quickly became drawn into the abusive regime at the home.

But he says it was when staff from another home called Bryn Estyn in Wrexham moved to Bersham Hall that the abuse became worse.

Michael, who is now 44, was one of a number of boys who would be taken down on a minibus that belonged to the home to London on a Friday evening.

He told Sky News: "I'm going to be blunt, we were taken to sex parties and we'd be traded off and displayed and we would be picked out one by one."

He claims he was so institutionalised by his time in care that he saw the trips to London as a privilege.

He said: "To us it was great, we could drink, we could smoke we could be naughty we were in the adult world - fantastic.

"Then uncle 'whoever' would pat his knee and call you over and he'd give you another drink and he'd talk to you.

"A lot of them were quite old men, 50s or 60s, very posh. They would take us away to separate bedrooms where we were abused.

"It was how compliant you were, how nice you were towards them and looking back it was all about what they could get away with."

He has now reported allegations of rape at the parties to his local police force.

this is a different victim saying they were taken to a flat in london not a flat in wrexham which was claimed by the other person. the mind boggles and it chages daily.one things for sure is that if the perpetrators are still alive they would now be in their 80's or 90's if the above story is correct.

This breaks my heart that such evil men exist in this world. This guy is so brave to give this interview, I feel so much anger that this happened to these children, and I hope the monsters are found and their lives destroyed.

Im sorry.but this is getting a bit out of hand now.where have all these victims come from after decades .is it a case they just simply want to get something off their chest and wish to tell their story to the media.iwish i understood their motives, or is it to receive some money by opening up to the media to get some money and be paid several thousand pounds to tell their story in the light of the jimmy savile case.jumping on the bandwagon.okay these peaple youve got to believe ,their telling the truth, but why talk to the media and not the police.if i was abused in a carehome id go to the police not sky or the newspapers.

Maybe people are afraid of not being believed by the police still.after all the reports that several victims did tell police and things were massivley ignored, covered up by everyone in the case of the childrens homes and js case.maybe going to the press is the only way to make the first step.they cant sweep it under the carpet then.he probably has gone to the police before the press tbh it doesnt say but there is a lot more to come i think.

Their telling their storys to the media first than going to the police.shouldnt it be the other way round.if you have a coplaint against someone you go to the relevent.authoritys not the sun newspaper.you go to court first and you prove your telling the truth

You cant always prove things like this.too many years have passed.yes i agree they should first go to the police but and this is just my opinion, this all needs to come out and tbh honest it shouldnt be like this but if it's out there it cant be covered up anymore

I totally agree with Shaun Spncer, this is getting out of control. If we make it clear that no financial gain can be made from this and no newspaper can pay for stories, I wonder how many people would disappear back to where they came from? The time, money and police manpower should be spent on the poor sufferes of sexual abuse today.
