Chris Martin has tinnitus

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has secretly been suffering from agonising ear condition tinnitus for a decade.
The Fix You hitmaker has a constant ringing in his ears which can cause painful headaches and he blames the ailment on listening to loud music in his teens.
He is now forced to wear special earphones on stage to stop the condition getting any worse.
Martin tells the Daily Mirror, "I've had tinnitus for about 10 years, but since I started protecting my ears it hasn't got any worse...
"The band use moulded filter plugs, or in-ear monitors. You can use industrial headphones but they look strange at a party.
"Looking after your ears is unfortunately something you don't think about until there's a problem. I wish I'd thought about it earlier."
Martin is now fronting a new campaign, Action On Hearing Loss, alongside rapper Plan B and Gary Numan, who also suffer from tinnitus.

He's been complaining of hearing an annoying, tedious, relentless droning noise for the last 10 years. Still, it makes him a lot of money producing it

I do hope the people who have left the comments below never suffer from this awful problem. Chris is a brilliant musician and a lovely guy and I was sorry to learn of the condition he is suffering from. Well done Chris for overcoming this and providing us with some wonderful music.

Try living with it - maybe then you will have the right to joke about it

I have lived with it, I had to listen to a WHOLE colplay album once. It is no laughing matter

Maybe he should turn his speakers down a tad next time he's on stage so concert goers won't suffer in the future. By a tad I mean all the way to the off setting.

I've suffered from tinnitus from the age of 19 after an ear infection. It is horrible.

Horrid condition - it sounds like it drives sufferers almost mad. Poor guy.

Ahhhhh that explains the awful music he has been making! He can't hear it himself!
