Claudia Lawrence Investigation: Man Bailed
Police investigating the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence have questioned a man on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Detectives investigating the disappearance of the 35-year-old chef arrested a 46-year-old man from York on Wednesday.
North Yorkshire Police said the man was interviewed in custody while searches while forensic enquiries were being conducted. He was later released on bail.
The Acomb pub in York, which Ms Lawrence apparently used to frequent, was cordoned off as scene of crime officers and dog handlers searched the premises.
A nearby bookmakers was also being searched and items had been removed from the pub, the York Press reported.
North Yorkshire Police have not confirmed whether the search is connected to the arrest.
A 59-year-old man arrested on May 13 on suspicion of murdering Ms Lawrence remains on police bail.
Ms Lawrence was last seen at around 3pm on March 18, 2009, as she returned home from her shift at the University of York. She was reported missing by her father, Peter, two days later.
Detectives have been pursuing new lines of inquiry after a fresh appeal for information was launched on the fifth anniversary of her disappearance.
These include two unknown vehicles - one of which was seen near Ms Lawrence's home - and the discovery of mystery fingerprints found in her flat.
