Colin Firth struck down with influenza
Colin Firth was forced to miss out on supporting his wife at a lunch in New York to promote sustainable fashion on Tuesday after falling ill.
The Oscar winner was left behind in England recovering from a nasty bout of influenza while his eco-campaigner wife Livia jetted to the Big Apple for the Fashion 4 Development event at the Pierre restaurant in Manhattan.
After being quizzed on where her famous spouse was, Firth replied, "My husband is stuck in London with the flu. He couldn't get on the plane."
Tommy Hilfiger, Martha Stewart and designer Tory Burch were also at the lunch, which was held to support a campaign to create jobs and boost communities across the world through sustainable fashion businesses.
