Computer glitch delays US flights
SkyWest Airlines sayhas said s a disruption in its computer network stopped its flights throughout the US from taking off for about two hours.
Spokeswoman Marissa Snow said the system went down at about 5am mountain time and was restored by about 7am.
She said that service from the airline's network provider was disrupted. That kept pilots from getting information about planes including fuel amounts, weight and balance.
Ms Snow said there were ongoing delays of 90 minutes to two hours expected on flights throughout the day.
SkyWest is a Utah-based carrier that services flights for United, Delta, US Airways, American Airlines and others. It was ranked 11th among major airlines in on-time arrivals in September.
